Please take time to read the very important information below and
in the files on the left of this page:
Spring Registration Packets are in the Gray Tote Box in the Council
Pick-up Room. Our Service Unit goal is to have 25 of our 40 existing
troops registered in the Spring. Will you commit to being
in that number? The Council is again offering great incentives
- a patch for girls and a tote bag for leaders. See information
for details. Also, for questions or clarification, you may
contact Dara Simmons, our Service Unit Registrar via email at DSimmons@CliffValleySchool.Org.
To be eligible for the incentives, completed
forms, registration fees, and Anuual Fund contributions (read below) are
due by Friday, May 23rd to Dara - drop in the gray
tote box or mail to Dara at:
Cliff Valley School, 2426 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30329
All paperwork needs to go through the SU registrar before it
is turned into Council.
Troop leaders - the paperwork should NEVER
be turned in at the Receptionist Dest at the Council.
So
me troops will not have a packet with pre-printed forms, due to
fact that many of our troops registered in the fall. However,
you may pick-up blank registration forms from the brown office desk
in the Council Pick-Up Room. We want to encourage all existing
troops to participate in Spring Registration!
A few more notes:
•
On the pre-printed forms, the girl's registration has the girl's
current grade level - not 08-09. The forms need to reflect the grade
the girl will be in next year, since this is a registration for
next year. Leaders need to mark these corrections
before forms are passed out. The forms were pre-printed at
National Headquarters. They recently converted to a new database,
which is probably the reason for the discrepancies. Just be sure
to keep an eye out to ensure data accuracy.
• NEW! On the girl and adult registration forms, there
is a box asking parents to consider making a contribution to the
Annual Fund. Before distributing the forms to
parents, please highlight the top line in the box asking for a contribution
to the Annual Fund. We want to draw parents' attention to
the campaign and we want to be sure they understand that the amount
they are checking in this box is a contribution to the Annual Fund,
in addition to the $10 membership fee. The suggested donation
is $40. Of course they can give whatever they are comfortable
with. When a parent makes an Annual Fund contribution,
they can write it on either the girl or adult form. You might
suggest to parents that they add the contribution to their form,
if they are registering as an adult Girl Scout.
Our Service Unit Annual Fund Contribution was 69% of goal this year. The
average goal attained among service units in our area is 87%Many
troops did not participate in the Annual Fund Contribution this
year and we need to improve this for the 2008-09 year.
See attachment - the Troop Detailed Report was shared at the
last service unit meeting. Will you commit to asking
parents to make a contribution? Remember, Annual Fund contributions
support the well maintained camps, dynamic programs for girls, background
checks for potential leaders, and many other resources provide
to us by the Council.
Again, please contact Dara Simmons DSimmons@CliffValleySchool.Org if
you have any questions about completing the forms.
Let's work together to exceed the Membership Goal and Annual
Fund Goal set for the Phoenix Rising/Edgewood Service Unit by
the Council.
2007-08 Memberhip Goal.... 725 girls.....585 girls currently
registered
2007-08 Annual Fund Goal.....$4,686......received so far $3,242
(contributions are still being accepted for the 2007-08 year)
Thanks,
Mary and Kendra
